A: Your booking is comprehensive. It covers all 4-star+ hotel accommodations, first-class bullet train tickets from Beijing to Taiyuan, private ground transportation, all entrance fees for scheduled attractions, daily meals (including specialty dining), and the services of professional, bilingual guides. International airfare and personal expenses are separate.Q: Do you assist with international airfare booking?
A:Yes, for US-based travelers, Tuway Tours will book the round-trip international flight from the US west coast (Los Angeles or San Francisco) to Beijing. Travelers will arrange their own travel to the west coast. Please contact us if any booking assistance is needed.Q: Do I need a visa to travel to China, and does Tuway handle it?
A: Many countries now enjoy visa free travel to China. US passport holders can enjoy a 10-day transit visa. This visa allows US travelers to stay in China up to 10 days, as long as they enter and exit China from different countries. Travelers can also apply for a tourist visa (L visa) before arrival, which offer longer periods for visits.The Travel ExperienceQ: How do we get from Beijing to Taiyuan, and how long does it take?
A: We travel via China's high-speed bullet train network, which is incredibly smooth, punctual, and clean. The trip takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Your package includes upgraded first-class seating, which features extra legroom, power outlets, and large windows to enjoy the passing scenery.Q: How physically demanding is this tour?
A: The tour requires a moderate level of physical fitness. Major historic sites like the Great Wall at Mutianyu, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven complex require significant walking over stone paths, inclines, and stairs. We intentionally pace our days to ensure the trip is comfortable and enjoyable without causing burnout.Food, Health & AccommodationsQ: Can you accommodate specific dietary restrictions or food allergies?
A: Yes, we carefully select reputable, high-standard restaurants for our group meals. Our bilingual guides handle all ordering and will communicate your specific dietary needs directly to the kitchen staff at every stop.However, travel to China with a severe gluten-free or peanut allergy is challenging. Cross-contamination is widespread, and food labeling or allergy awareness is minimal. Soy sauce (a wheat product) is a base ingredient in almost all cooking, and peanuts are heavily used in oils, sauces, and garnishes.
